Blog Name: Laura-Simone
What is your blog about?
Hello! I’m Laura; a twenty-something lifestyle, beauty and blogging addict! Laura-Simone is a place for me to share all my thoughts, inspiration and views on everything from blusher to burgers and more. Not only do I share all my favourite things such as makeup, skincare, recipes, and places to explore, but I try to create a place that my readers can come and relate to someone. My goal is for it to be raw and personal, creative and fun, as well as helpful and inspiring. After 2 years of blogging, I feel like I have learnt so many snippets of information along the way (a lot of things I wish I had known earlier) that I want to share with everyone; both blogging and life related!
When did you first start blogging?
I started blogging just over 2 years ago. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy and I was going to have to learn lots of new skills, but that was the challenge I needed at the time. Since then I have struggled and taken breaks, but I’ve also had some amazing opportunities, met the best people and loved connecting with everyone.
What is your motivation behind blogging?
I love being part of the blogging community, making new friends and having my own little corner on the internet to share all my favourite things and the things I am passionate about. At the same time, I love to create relatable, fun and inspiring content that I think my readers would like or find useful in their everyday lives.
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
My answer to this question is always time and I really wish there were so many more hours in the day sometimes. Not only do I want to try new things, be creative and constantly improve my content, but I also have so many plans and ideas for my blog that I find it hard to fit it all in.
What is your top tip for someone looking to start a blog?
When I first thought about starting a blog, I went through stages of telling myself that I wasn’t creative enough, that I didn’t really have the time and that no one would want to read it and just every other excuse under the sun that you could think of. You name it – I thought it. So, my biggest piece of advice is that you can do anything you set your mind to! Whether it’s setting up a blog or taking on any kind of new challenge. Push all the fear and excuses to one side and just go for it! I did 2 years ago and I have never looked back, yet somehow, I feel like this is only the beginning.
What is the best thing a blogger can give to its reader?
Like I mentioned earlier I think it needs to be personal as well as engaging. You are completely unique and so is your content. I like to think that when people read my blog, it’s like they are sat on the sofa with a cup of tea and we are having a little catch up.
What do you do when you’re not blogging?
Where do I start? I currently work full time in pharmacovigilance and I am studying part time for a masters degree. I have a YouTube channel (Laura-Simone) that’s full of vlogs of all my little every day adventures. I love to be outdoors in the fresh air, exploring and traveling to new places. When I’m tucked up indoors and need a break from the computer you will find me cooking/baking or reading a new book that I’m obsessed with.
